Central Library Tour Request

Madison Public Library's Central Library was first built in 1965, remodeled in 2012-2013, and re-opened to the public on September 21, 2013.  We offer tours for groups of five or more when staffing allows.  Please use this form to request a tour and allow up to 3 days for a response.  Please contact Tana Elias at telias@madisonpubliclibrary.org or 608-266-4953 with questions.  For class visits and field trips, please contact the Central Library's Children's Room at 608-266-6345.

Library Board

The Madison Public Library is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors, appointed for three year terms by the Mayor of Madison. The Board's authority to oversee the policies and direction of the Library is derived from Chapter 43 of Wisconsin statutes. The Library Board works in conjunction with the Mayor, library staff, and the Madison Common Council to plan, fund and implement public library service in Madison.
