Filmmaking with the Bubbler

Learn the basics of Filmmaking at Meadowridge Library during Spring 2023

Join us for this series teaching the fundamentals of filmmaking! Nate Clark from the Bubbler will be teaching this engaging series where teens and tweens will create an informational video about Meadowridge Library. Classes will take place on Tuesday afternoons from February 28 - June 6, 2023. Nate is an animator and filmmaker working in both the video game and film industry. Nate will be attending every other session and teen services librarian, Rachel, will be running the other work sessions. Attendees will learn everything from pre-production, filming, editing and sharing their work.

Filmmaking with the Bubbler Event Series: 

Pre-Production

This week will be working on conceptualizing the story line. 

Script Writing

Learn to write a movie script, including formatting, flow and story.

Storyboarding

Start visualizing your movie and planning different scenes as we lay everything out through storyboarding.

Filming

Put your planning into action as we work on filming scenes, b-roll and more.

Editing

We'll use this time to put everything together and learn how to edit film.

Publishing

You've got a finished product - how do you share it with the world?


About the Presenter

Nate Clarke is a photographer and filmmaker working for The Bubbler at Madison Public LibraryNate Clark is an animator and filmmaker working in both the video game and film industry. He has worked on award winning games and films, and local independent films in the city of Madison. Professional projects Nate has worked on have been nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, the BAFTA Award for Best Special Visual Effects, Game of the Year, Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer Movie: Drama, and the BFCA Critics Choice Award for Best Visual Effects. Nate has been working with the Bubbler at Madison Public Library since 2012, and the Media Lab at the Madison Public Library since its inception in 2013.
