Free meals for kids! The MMSD Summer Food Program provides FREE FOOD from June 18 - Aug 10. To find a summer food site near you, text “food” to 877-877, call 211, or visit mmsd.org/food.

Blood is at the Doorstep

Join Director Erik Ljung, a member of the Hamilton family, Representative Chris Taylor, and Wisconsin Film Festival Coordinator Ben Reiser for a screening of the documentary The Blood is at the Doorstep, followed by a post-screening Q&A at Central Library on Wednesday, July 18, 6:30pm. Read Like a Badger: Libraries Rock!

Read Like a Badger

Starting June 1, visit one of the nine Madison libraries or register online to join our Summer Reading Club.

All ages welcome from birth through 8th grade. Join us on a brain-building reading adventure this summer and earn a free book of your choice and an invitation to our Rock the Library Sessions, a special Bubbler Jr. making experience just for summer readers.

Summer Reading Club runs through August 31.

Don't miss another chance to create your own inclusive Libraries are for Everyone t-shirt! 

Drop-in during the following workshops to create your own screenprint of the "Libraries are for Everyone" image, with text available in English, Spanish, or Arabic. Bring your own t-shirt, tote, or material to print on, or create a print on paper.

Saturday, June 2 from 10:00-11:30am - Monroe Street Library
Saturday, August 18 from 10:00am-12:00pm - Pinney Library

One print per person. All ages welcome, kids under 7 will need help from a grownup.

Domesticated with Hannah Bennett

Just like plants and animals develop new characteristics as they become tamed by human beings, art can be domesticated as well.

Artist Hannah O’Hare Bennett invites the public to explore the domestication of nature-inspired art in spaces that feel domestic themselves during her May-June residency with the Bubbler at Madison Public Library.
