Period Party at Meadowridge library 2023

Madison Public Library is excited to host our Period Party - an informational health event at Goodman South Madison Public Library - for the second year in a row! Kids, teens and families are invited to come learn more about menstruation, participate in art activities, and indulge in some “period craving” snacks.

Awesome Ovaries zine created by artist Ashley hartman annisPublic Health will kick the event off with a presentation designed to help break down some of the myths about menstruation. You'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions during this conversational yet informative presentation, and library staff will have an accompanying book display at the event to encourage continued learning after the event is over. The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness will also be present and will share their mission and the resources that they have available.
