French Macarons

Even though macarons have only four ingredients, the method of putting those ingredients together is very precise. We’ll go through the process step-by-step so that you learn how to make this French cookie correctly. We’ll discuss types of fillings including Swiss meringue buttercream and a chocolate ganache.

About the Presenter
Punky Egan earned the title of Certified Master Baker, one of less than 200 in the country, from the professional organization RBA (Retail Bakers of America). Through her 45-year professional baking career, she owned Sucré Patisserie and Dessert Lounge, was a consultant to the baking industry, and a recipe developer. At Madison College, she was the director of the baking program as well as lead instructor. She co-authored 3 cookbooks, wrote baking articles for professional publications, and created instructional baking videos for her baking students. She had a regular baking segment on a local TV station and was even on the Food Network!

Filmmaking with the Bubbler - Filming Continued

Join us for this series teaching the fundamentals of film making! Nate Clark from the Bubbler will be teaching this engaging series where teens and tweens will create an informational video about Meadowridge Library! Nate is an animator and filmmaker working in both the video game and film industry. He has worked on award winning games and films, and local independent films in the city of Madison. Professional projects Nate has worked on have been nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, the BAFTA Award for Best Special Visual Effects, Game of the Year, Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer Movie: Drama, and the BFCA Critics Choice Award for Best Visual Effects. Nate has been working with the Madison Public Library since 2012, and the Media Lab at the Madison Public Library since its inception in 2013. Nate will be attending every other session and teen services librarian, Rachel, will be running the other work sessions. Nate's sessions will be 2/28, 3/14, 3/28, 4/11, 4/25, 5/9, 5/23, and 6/6.
This week will continue working on filming.
