Share your historic images! Your personal collections of photos and films could appear in the upcoming PBS Wisconsin documentary, “Wisconsin Hometown Stories: Madison.”

During the week of April 14-18, 2025, residents can stop into multiple library locations to pick up free yard signs (available in four languages) for the City of Madison's 20 is Plenty program!

During the last weekend in April, there are FOUR book sales happening thanks to the Friends of Madison Public Library! Spring book sales are a grand tradition at Madison Public Library and various Friends groups are hosting special sales to help raise funds to support the library. 

Attend a party in the library this May. Our first location opened on May 31, 1875, and we're ringing in 150 years with birthday cake, giveaways, and interactive activities for every age at all nine locations!
