Eddie Winston is an unexpected romantic hero at 90 years old. He's making some changes and finding his groove. He works in an English secondhand shop in Birmingham sorting through donations. It's there he meets broken-hearted Bella after sorting through her dead boyfriend's possessions. Eddie has an instinct about which donations need to be preserved or archived on his "Eddie Shelf" instead of marking them for sale and his intuition about Bella is spot on. She returns to the shop and Eddie reunites her with the treasured possessions she gave away. The two strike up an unlikely and fantastic friendship that leads them both on the adventure of a lifetime and helps them heal from their haunting pasts.

Bella's love has passed away at a tragically young age, while Eddie believes that his true love is still out there. Through a series of charming attempts with online dating, real-life dating, cross-country travel, and a silk leopard print shirt, both Eddie and Bella can move on. If you believe in good manners, destiny, true love, and happy endings, you will find all of that with Eddie Winston. You will also find yourself immersed in modern British work culture and hilarious lunches in the park with pigeons. This is something I didn't know I needed, but I desperately did.

I can't say enough good things about this book.
