“Why be one of many when you can be one of a kind?” Pa Sheep asks Sheepy as they choose his Halloween costume. Sheepy will not be dissuaded. He has his heart set on being the scariest werewolf in the neighborhood. Sadly, so does every other lamb in town. Now what is Sheepy to do? Sheepy uses his own creativity to solve the dilemma and has a great Halloween.
Sheepy resonates well with kids and adults alike. The illustrations and rhyming text share the spooky joy of Halloween without being overly scary. The pictures are spare but there is much to engage young readers. Sheepy is a fun, welcome addition to the cannon of favorite characters in picture book literature and you have time to get a copy before the holiday.
