Juneteenth Event at Penn Park

Stop by, say "Hi" to Library staff at the Library's table during the 23rd Annual Juneteenth event at Penn Park (2101 Fisher Street). Pick up your WE READ bag and get a library card while enjoying this family-friendly community event.

The Twenty-Third Annual Juneteenth Parade will kick off at 10:45 a.m. with staging to begin at 10:00 a.m. The Juneteenth Parade will depart from Park Bank parking lot on Park Street and proceed down Park Street to Penn Park, where there will be music, food, entertainment and a host of community resources. 

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people who were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.
