[FULL] Tai Chi for All

Alicia Ashman Library
Community Room
-

You might know Tai Chi as an ancient Chinese exercise that has been called "meditation in motion" (Harvard School of Medicine), but did you also know that regular Tai Chi practice is an evidence-based way to reduce your risk of falling?

Adults of all ages are invited to this 3-week session especially designed to be a gentle and inclusive introduction to Tai Chi. No prior experience is needed. This adaptive class offers seated, standing, or standing with side support options, and participants are asked to wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat shoes (tennis shoes are great!). Participants are welcome to attend one, two, or attend them all (July 18, 25, and August 1)! The first session on July 18 will include an extra 15 minutes to cover some brief historical background, and time for participants to complete a short waiver form.

Space is limited and sign-up is required; registration for all 3 sessions opens on 7/7 at 10:00a.m.

UPDATE as of 07/10/25: This class is currently full; to be added to the wait list, please email fmcdaniel@madisonpubliclibrary.org or call 608-824-1780.
