While our libraries are closed, please be advised that book drops are also closed. Please keep library materials until libraries reopen. Due dates of checked out materials will be extended to accommodate the closure, and holds will be retained at libraries until libraries reopen.

Help us celebrate the long-awaited new Pinney Library! Join Library and City officials on Thursday, March 12 at 11 am for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by the opening of the public library for its first day of service; celebrate with cake, coffee and tours of the new space. Then, drop in for a full weekend of events on Grand Opening Weekend, March 14-15.
Author Donna Leon will read from and sign copies of Trace Elements. Copies will be given away at this event, subject to availability. Wednesday, March 4, 7pm, Central Library. Doors open at 6pm.
City of Madison’s Poet Laureate, Angela Trudell Vasquez, and the Madison Public Library are partnering to celebrate National Poetry Month beginning Monday, April 1, 2020.
We are partnering with Madison Metropolitan School District to host three community readings of I Am Jazz, a book co-written by transgender trailblazer Jazz Jennings about her experience as a transgender girl. Readings are Thursday, February 27, 6-7pm at Alicia Ashman, Lakeview, and Sequoya Libraries.
Join the library in welcoming Madison's new Poet Laureate. A public reception will be held at the Central Library to celebrate her appointment on February 22 from 2pm-3:30pm.
