Urban adventuring

Cover of Strollercoaster
A review of Strollercoaster by Matt Ringler

One cranky preschooler plus one desperate dad, a purple stroller and an urban landscape, equals a ride as exciting as any tilt-a-whirl. Strollercoaster is an invention created by Matt Ringler for his own daughter when the daily frustrations got to be too much, and an exciting distraction was just the ticket. Soon they're racing up and down hilly sidewalks, zooming through the neighborhood past the bakery, basketball court, park, over a bridge, through a tunnel, up onto a wall, around the town and back to the steps that lead to home. Just in time for dad and daughter to fall asleep on the couch.  Raul the Third and Elaine Bay’s art zooms, zips and soars, with bright, saturated colors that punctuate the excitement.  Recommended for kids ages 3 to 7 and their energetic adults.
