Computers at Alicia Ashman

Computers

Due to COVID-19, this location can only provide limited computer access. See section on Library Computers & COVID-19 Safety below.

All computers have Microsoft Office with the sit down time limit of 1 hour. 

  • Monday - Friday, 10am-5:45pm (beginning May 24, 2021)
  • Saturday, 12-4:45pm (beginning May 29, 2021)

Library computers are available on a first come, first served, one hour per day. See Internet and Computer Access page for information about making reservations or call 608-824-1780.

Patrons with Young Children

This location has a room or area that is equipped with a computer that can only be reserved for patrons with young children. Please call our Library Telephone Service, 608-824-1780for availability.

Printing

Printing is available for a fee:

  • Black-and-white prints - .10 per page
  • Color prints - .50 per page

Scanning

Photocopying

Check with staff about using photocopier.

Wireless Information

No security code is required for the unsecured wireless network.

 

Library Computers & COVID-19 Safety

Cleaning and Public Health

All staff working library computers receive training and the personal protective equipment necessary to keep themselves, other staff, and the public safe. Employees may wear a face covering according to City of Madison policy and Dane County Public Health Guidelines.

Guidelines for Safe Computer Use

  • Patrons and staff are not required to wear a face mask or covering, though mask-wearing is encouraged. A face mask will be available for those who ask for one upon entering. [See Madison and Dane County Public Health requirements on Masks/ Face Coverings]
     
  • Hand sanitizer is available.
     
  • Food is not allowed. Some locations will have a bottle-filling station.
     
  • Computers may not come with headphones. Patrons are welcome to bring their own, or ask to borrow a pair from library staff.
