StoryCorps Visits Madison

StoryCorps, a national oral history project, is coming to Madison Public Library to record and preserve the stories of our community and our library. Our StoryCorps days are a gift from the Institute of Museum and Library Services as part of our library’s National Medal Award. Recordings will take place on February 9-11 at the Central Library and will be released as edited stories during National Library Week, April 9-15, 2017.

StoryCorps’ mission is to provide people of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, preserve, and share their stories. Each week, millions of Americans listen to StoryCorps’ award-winning broadcasts on NPR’s Morning Edition. StoryCorps has published several New York Times bestselling books including All There Is: Love Stories from StoryCorps.

Keep a look out for stories from Madison this spring, visit the StoryCorps web site for more information, or view founder Dave Isay's TEDtalk on the power of stories. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating the stories of those in the Madison community and those who have been touched by our library.
