Blood is at the Doorstep

Join Director Erik Ljung, a member of the Hamilton family, Representative Chris Taylor, and Wisconsin Film Festival Coordinator Ben Reiser for a screening of the documentary The Blood is at the Doorstep, followed by a post-screening Q&A at Central Library on Wednesday, July 18, 6:30pm. All ages welcome from birth through 8th grade. Join us on a brain-building reading adventure this summer and earn a free book of your choice and an invitation to our Rock the Library Sessions, a special Bubbler Jr. making experience just for summer readers.

Summer Reading Club runs through August 31.

Drop-in during the following workshops to create your own screenprint of the "Libraries are for Everyone" image, with text available in English, Spanish, or Arabic. Bring your own t-shirt, tote, or material to print on, or create a print on paper.

Saturday, August 18 from 10:00am-12:00pm - Pinney Library

One print per person. All ages welcome, kids under 7 will need help from a grownup.

Artist Hannah O’Hare Bennett invites the public to explore the domestication of nature-inspired art in spaces that feel domestic themselves during her May-June residency with the Bubbler at Madison Public Library.

Jerry Jordan: Life in Light and Shadow

Jerry Jordan

Experience Life in Light and Shadow - artist Jerry Jordan's portrait paintings are on display in the Pinney Library Meeting Room from May through July.

Jerry is a productive artist working out of his studio in Madison, WI and is part of a growing movement of artists embracing classical representative painting. He counts such artists as John S. Sargent, William M. Chase and Joaquin Sorolla, to name a few, as his major artistic influences. He has been a UMOJA magazine cover artist and has exhibited his work at Overture as part of the "Justified Art!" show.
