UPDATE 04/07/2020: The deadline to submit an absentee ballot has been changed back to the original date of the election, April 7. All absentee ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, April 7, and be received at the clerk's office by April 13th. Book drops at Central, Pinney, and Sequoya we be available until noon today for you to submit your absentee ballots.
UPDATE 04/06/2020: The deadline to submit an absentee ballot has been extended to April 13 at 4 p.m. You can still submit ballots by dropping them in the book drops at Central, Pinney and Sequoya libraries. The situation remains fluid; updates will be made as they become available.
Madison Public Library is working closely with the City of Madison to help ensure essential services like voting continue despite the challenges of COVID-19. As long as voting is available to the public, we want to make sure voters and city staff remain safe and healthy. Beginning at 9 a.m, Wednesday, April 1 through noon on Tuesday, April 7, voters can drop absentee ballots in the book drops of the following three public libraries:
Central Library, 201 W. Mifflin St. (Mifflin St. book drop only)
Pinney Library, 516 Cottage Grove Road (drive through book drop only)
Sequoya Library, 4340 Tokay Blvd.
Ballots will be collected daily by City Clerk's Office staff during this time for processing. You can request an absentee ballot before April 2 from the City Clerk's Office.
Please DO NOT drop books or other library materials in the book drops during this time. We do not want ballots to be damaged. Please keep all library materials at home until the libraries reopen to the public. All due dates will be extended and no library fines will be charged.
