Attend one of these library events that will help you learn to live mindfully, practice self-care, and spread kindness.


Living Fully Mindfully with Gloria Green
February 11 | 12:00-1:30pm | Sequoya 

Mindfulness is more than just meditation. It is learning to live in the present, instead of rehashing the past or worrying about the future. It is popping out of autopilot and becoming aware of our thoughts. We have greater balance, control and fuller participation in life when we are in control of our thoughts.

In this class, learn how mindfulness can help you increase your attention span and amplify your focus, become master of your thoughts, respond rather than react to challenging situations, and increase your curiosity to improve your listening skills.

Caregiver Support Group

Salt and Its Healing Properties

Katy Wallace, Traditional Naturopath of Human Nature LLC, presents ways that our bodies demonstrate salt imbalances such as Candida overgrowth, SIBO, stomach acid issues, low and high blood pressure, hormonal problems and over-acidity. We'll discuss the various sources of salt available to consumers and how to incorporate raw salts into your regular routine. Vegan, gluten-free and grain-free. Registration begins January 29.

Intro to Pranic Healing

Join certified Pranic Healer and instructor Stephanie Toney to learn about using prana, or energy, to improve your overall well being. You’'ll be taught to scan or feel prana using your hands, learn simple but effective techniques to relieve aches & pains, reduce stress, and increase overall energy levels, you’ll learn breathing exercises, and also do a guided meditation on loving kindness. (Registration appreciated, but not required).

Mindful Fitness with Venus Washington

Venus will provide guided mindfulness practice, cardio and strength exercises. Join us to de-stress and energize your mind and body.

Venus Inspires: Movement​ and Mindfulness featuring Health Coach Venus Washington

March 23 | 10:00am (Mindful Talk) | Hawthorne

Health Coach Venus Washington will engage you in an interactive presentation about what mindfulness really is and you will learn easy tips to start incorporating mindfulness into your daily life. Registration required.

March 30 | 10:00am (Chair Mindfulness) | Hawthorne

Guided meditation combined with gentle movements from a chair to get you moving and bring peace through your body through music and guided meditation. Registration required.

April 13 |10:00am (Bring Your Yoga Mat!) | Hawthorne

Come for a terrific workout, with great music and a peaceful mind. Get pumped and find your peace, all at once.​


Read & Make: Kindness All Around

Join us for special early-release (or no school!) stories & making projects for kids in grades K-3! This is pure fun – but also encourages reading skills, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. Enjoy stories overflowing with love and kindness – then make your own kindness rocks and special notes for loved ones.

Valentine Studio

Come flex your artistic imagination and make a big batch of handmade valentines for everyone you adore. The library will provide a variety of lovely materials, participants make as many Valentines as they have time to create. For ages 7+.
