Summer Reading Club runs through August 31.
Why Summer Reading?
The Summer Reading Club helps kids & teens read and learn all summer! This helps keep their skills up - and have fun. When kids stop reading, they actually lose some of what they learned over the school year. This is called the "summer slide." By providing different ways of learning through free events and hands-on learning, we strive to give kids a fun reason to keep reading and encourage them to read what they like best. We hope to hold off the "summer slide" and keep kids ready for continued learning in the fall.
The Summer Reading Club is part of every library location and we also take it out to summer school sites, community centers and day cares all around Madison. Would you like to bring the Summer Reading Club to your group or daycare?Get more information and sign up at our Group Summer Reading page.

Funding for the 2018 Summer Reading Club is provided in large part by the Topitzes Family Foundation, the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation and the Madison Public Library Foundation and its Rock & Read Father's Day fundraiser.
Additional support for summer programming provided by Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Overture Center for the Arts and the South Central Library System with in-kind contributions from Madison Parks, the Madison City Clerk's Office and Madison Water Utility's Water Wagon.
