Jazz at Sequoya Library Fall 2022

Live jazz performances are returning to Sequoya Library! Join us for a free concert on the third Saturday of each month from August-December 2022. All performances take place from 2-4PM. We're excited to offer live music at the library again! 

Fall Lineup:

Saturday, August 20: Driftless Regionaires

Based in Cross Plains, the Driftless Regionaires play a broad selection of jazz and popular tunes from recent and not so recent decades.

Saturday, September 17: Essensual BeatZ

Essensual BeatZ (formerly Half Rose Half Nelson) delivers authentic performances of original songs and updated standards that unite past and future. Guitarists and songwriters Virginia Rose and Mark Nelson make it their mission to engage their audience while exploring life through music.

Saturday, October 15: Sandhill Cranes

The Sandhill Cranes is an instrumental quintet that performs a variety of music from the blues and early 20th century American music tradition including classic, contemporary and original music. The ensemble aims to bring a fresh perspective through improvisation that is influenced by present-day music. Each member of the band brings a unique and fresh perspective. The group is led by Neil Daily (trumpet) and consists of trumpet, saxophone, bass, guitar and drums.

Saturday, November 19: Caravan
Caravan is a world traveling instrumental acoustic jazz group based in Madison, Wisconsin. They are primarily influenced by the legendary Romani Jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. The duo also pulls influences from American jazz, European Folk Music, traditional Latin, Parisian waltz, and other vintage-jazz sources. Expect a range of tunes from the “Hot Swing" repertoire, originals, and standards done in uniquely arranged styles.

Saturday, December 17: Gerri DiMaggio Quartet

With the sound of a night club singer right out of a 1940s film noir, Gerri DiMaggio evokes romantic nostalgia with a modern edge. Her expressive singing, warm earthiness, and emotional insight prove that she is a true believer in the power of storytelling.This December the band will perform a special holiday-themed show celebrating the joy and the magic of the season. That is their goal: to inspire joy through music.
