
There's a new and creative series for teens at Meadowridge Library! On Thursday evenings from 6-7PM, you'll learn more about an influential artist and make your own masterpiece. This series will take place from January 12 - April 20, 2023 (no class Feb. 23). At each session, kids will make their own artwork in the style of the artist introduced. All supplies provided; no registration required.
Experiencing Monet's Watercolors
January 12, 6-7PM
This week we will be learning about Claude Monet and expressionism. Participants will create their own waterlily painting to add to their portfolio!
Expressing Identity Based on Njideka Akunyili Crosby's Paintings
January 19, 6-7PM
This week we will be learning about Njideka Akunyili Crosby and her art that explores personal identity and everyday activities. Participants will create their own depiction of their family to add to their portfolio!
Splatter Paint like Jackson Pollock

This week we will be learning about Jackson Pollock. Participants will create their own splatter paint work of art to add to their portfolio!

This week we will be learning about Pablo Picasso and his print making. Participants will create their own print to add to their portfolio!

This week we will be learning about Jean-Michel Basquiat and his graffiti style portraits. Participants will create their own self-portrait using a combination of words and images to add to their portfolio!
February 16, 6-7PM
This week we will be learning about Jeff Koons and his sculptures. Participants will create their own balloon animals that mimic Koons's Balloon Dog sculpture to add to their portfolio!
Jenny Holzer and the Power of Words
March 2, 6-7PM
This week we will be learning about Jenny Holzer and her emphasis on the delivery of words. Participants will create their own word photo art piece to add to their portfolio!
March 9, 6-7PM
This week we will be learning about Andy Warhol and his interpretation of pop art. Participants will create their own Warhol-esque pop art piece to add to their portfolio!
Piet Mondrian's Angular Art

This week we will be learning about Piet Mondrian and his abstract angular art. Participants will create their own abstract painting to add to their portfolio!
Frank Lloyd Wright's Stained Glass
March 23, 6-7PM
This week we will be learning about Frank Lloyd Wright and the stained glass creations in the homes he designed. Participants will create their own stained glass shrinky dink to add to their portfolio!

This week we will be learning about Toni Infante and digital art. Participants will create their own digital art drawing to add to their portfolio!
April 6, 6-7PM
This week we will be learning about Keith Haring and his interpretation of pop art. Participants will create their own Haring inspired pop art drawing to add to their portfolio!
Guerra de la Paz Recycled Sculptures
April 13, 6-7PM
This week we will be learning about the Cuban art collective, Guerra de la Paz, and their recycled materials sculptures. Participants will create their own sculpture to add to their portfolio!
April 20, 6-7PM
This week we will be learning about Georgia O'Keefe and the landscape paintings that she created. Participants will create their own landscape to add to their portfolio!
