Visit the Bubbler Room and immerse yourself in All The Things! Illustrator and maker Emily Joy Balsley will host workshops and open studio sessions exploring various mediums throughout her September-October residency.

Joy in All the Things describes Emily's state of euphoria while she explores a wide variety of projects, ideas, materials, and creative endeavors. In her own world of making, no project or idea is beyond the scope of possibility if it inspires happiness.

With All The Things, Emily looks forward to working with her Bubbler residency to embrace our diverse community and help everyone find a passion for creating. From the simplicity of making pom-poms to the hectic world of public art and murals, the refined skills of hand-lettering to the whimsy of anthropomorphic illustrations, All the Things aspires to fill the Bubbler with joy in all pursuits!

People of all ages can drop-in, view, and contribute to ongoing projects such as gratitude wall hangings, a community mural, and a number of different drawing prompts. Or register for free to attend a variety of workshops focused on hand-lettering, illustration - even some Halloween-inspired fun!

In this casual session, Emily will supply some black paper, Posca markers, and a drawing prompt for you to create in your own unique style. These illustrations will be hung outside the Bubbler Room as a collective piece for Gallery Night (Oct 4), showcasing the diversity and talent that exists within this illustrator community. Use this time to connect with other artists in the field of illustration, ask questions and draw together. Feel free to bring your own sketchbooks, tablets, lucky drawing materials, but plenty will be provided.
