Meadowridge Library Expansion

The Meadowridge Library and Meadowood Neighborhood Center are expanding!

Join staff from Meadowridge Library and the Meadowood Neighborhood Center and architects from Engberg Anderson for three public meetings about the planning and design of future Meadowridge Library and Community Center.  Meetings are at the Meadowood Shopping Center, 5740 Raymond Road.

Public Meeting 3: Preferred Option Review
Thursday, June 20, 6:30-8:30 pm

The expansion of the Meadowridge Library and Meadowood Neighborhood Center offers both agencies the opportunity to increase their own spaces and provide a shared space for community programs, meetings, and computer lab.  The expansion and co-location will allow the library and the neighborhood center the opportunity to develop collaborative programs that will benefit both organizations and better serve neighborhood residents.

Keep up to date about the project here, or by signing up for our email updates about the project.

I think this will be a hard balancing act between pleasing area youth and older community residents. On one hand, you have the need for a productive and nice place for local youth to go to use computers and check out materials. On the other hand, the youth can be a cause of trouble to staff and other library goers. I don't have specific solutions to that, but it is something that should be top of mind in planning.

Hi Chris,

Thanks, Chris, for your comment and interest in Meadowridge!

I agree, it is always a bit of a balancing act designing a public space that will be used by a wide variety of people.  The architects, designers and library staff are taking into consideration the needs and desires of patrons that are using the library now and patrons we hope will visit us in our new expanded location.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised by how our architects and designers are taking what was a hardware store and modifying it into a library that will be a welcoming place for patrons of all ages and expectations.  Please join us for the unveiling of their latest plan on Thursday, June 20th at 6:30 at what was the Ace Hardware store at the Meadowood Shopping Center.
