Finding and Placing Holds on Picture Books at Madison Public Library

Interested in seeing the most recently published board books and picture books?  Remember to use the "Available on Shelf" links on the left, to see what is at your Madison Public Library.

The above video was published in 2020 while our libraries were closed to the public. We are currently open, but still think some people may struggle to find picture books online to place holds, so we're leaving this resource up as a helpful guide!

  1. Read the descriptions to find a good picture book category match, or choose Board Books.  Follow the live link for that category and you will get a list of all books in that category.
  2. In the left hand side of the LINKcat screen is a list of libraries with items "Available On Shelf"  Select your pickup library to see what books are on the shelf in real time.
  3. You can sort your search results by author or by publication date (newest to oldest)
  4. You now can see our shelf virtually and make your selections by placing holds on the items you would like.
