We'll discuss Fun Home: a Family Tragicomic by Alison Bechdel, the 2006 graphic memoir that chronicles the author’s childhood and youth, focusing on her complex relationship with her father. The narrative is marked by gothic twists, a family funeral home, sexual angst, and a love of great books. It is a pioneering work, pushing two genres (comics and memoir) in new directions, and the basis of the Tony-award winning play. Fun Home “is one of the very best graphic novels ever.” Booklist
