The Lakeview Library and Get Kids Outside are partnering on a two-part event celebrating fall, leaves and nature!
Part one will be held on Saturday, October 7 at 10:00 am at the Lakeview Library (2845 N Sherman Ave, Madison, WI, 53704). Children and families can create leaf art by painting, collaging and doing leaf rubbings, while learning about different leaves and trees at a fun one hour session. Participants are invited to bring a favorite leaf to share, examine and identify. There will also be a book give-away, and a snack will be provided. Registration is not required.
Part two will take place on Saturday, October 14 from 1:00-2:30 pm at Warner Park and begins at the Rainbow Shelter (2930 North Sherman Ave., Madison, WI 53704). Why do leaves turn color? What leaves stay on the trees the longest? What kinds of wildlife depend on trees for shelter? What else can we see at the park in fall? Join us as we explore the natural world of leaves and trees at the park. A snack will be served, and Get Kids Outside will give away one pair of binoculars.
