[FULL] We Read Spring Break: Sculpting Stories

Meeting Room 115
Wednesday, Mar 27, 2024, 11:30am to 1:30pm

Join us to learn about storytelling in a unique and creative way! Local artist, Jayce Thoyre, will teach the basics of sculpting and kids will be able to tell their own stories through their sculptures. We will be using model magic, and kids can bring home their sculptures at the end of the workshop. This program is open to kids of all ages, but kids ages 7 and under will need the assistance of a caregiver. Registration is limited to 12 kids, so be sure to sign up!

As you express yourself, maybe you'll be inspired to jot your story? poem? comic? down and submit it to the We Read Youth Voices Writing Contest. Pick up a FREE writer's notebook from the desk before you head home, and be sure to submit your story once the contest opens on April 1.

Jayce Thoyre (they/them) is an artist based in the Madison area with 20+ years of experience working with polymer clay, using it to produce anything from sculptures to jewelry, masks, and other wearables.
