Are you behind on your rent because of the pandemic, either directly or indirectly? You are not alone. Many people are experiencing financial hardship right now.The African Center for Community Development will be located at the Lakeview Library on Tuesdays, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm, to help individuals and families who owe back rent apply for Dane Core assistance. Eligible households in need of rental and utility assistance should stop by.

Free COVID-19 vaccines and boosters at the Lakeview Library, administered by Public Health Madison & Dane County!

1st, 2nd, or booster doses of Pfizer and Moderna available while supplies last.

Everyone 6 months and older is welcome. 6 months-17 year olds need a parent or guardian present.

Who doesn’t need a little chocolate boost once in a while! Homemade truffles hit the spot, and they’re quick to make following easy instructions. The key is using a good quality, dark chocolate for the richest flavor. We’ll taste test a variety of truffles including espresso, hazelnut, and orange.

Space is limited for this event; registration is required. Please use the sign up link below or call (608) 246-4547 to register. Registration opens on January 24 at 10 a.m., two weeks prior to program date.

 

About the Presenter

Punky Egan earned the title of Certified Master Baker, one of less than 200 in the country, from the professional organization RBA (Retail Bakers of America). Through her 45-year professional baking career, she owned Sucré Patisserie and Dessert Lounge, was a consultant to the baking industry, and recipe developer. At Madison College, she was the director of the baking program as well as lead instructor. She co-authored 3 cookbooks, wrote baking articles for professional publications, created instructional baking videos for her baking students. She had a regular baking segment on a local TV station and was even on the Food Network!
