Are you behind on your rent because of the pandemic, either directly or indirectly? You are not alone. Many people are experiencing financial hardship right now.The African Center for Community Development will be located at the Lakeview Library on Tuesdays, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm, to help individuals and families who owe back rent apply for Dane Core assistance. Eligible households in need of rental and utility assistance should stop by.

Storytime (ages 5 & under)

READ and PLAY together with children under age 5!
Engaging with books, songs and playful experiences all help children develop communication skills, patience, empathy, and pre-reading skills and helps to build a lifelong love of reading. We will start with a short storytime and then have playtime.
Library programs are always free. Siblings and childcare groups are welcome.

1st, 2nd, or booster doses of Pfizer and Moderna available while supplies last.
Everyone 6 months and older is welcome. 6 months-17 year olds need a parent or guardian present.

Tinkering Tuesday: Rock Decorating

Drop in to the children's area at Meadowridge Library for art, making, tinkering, and fun! This week, we will be decorating rocks with Posca markers! Write a kind message on your rock and leave it for someone else to take, or decorate a rock to take home with you. Rocks and Posca markers provided.
All ages welcome. Children under 5 will need extra help from a parent or caregiver. No registration required.

Drop-in anytime between 4:30PM-5:30PM and try a different hands-on project. All materials are provided and take what you make with you when you leave.

Teen Yoga and Wellness

Teens and Tweens! Join us for yoga and wellness activities provided by Zen Ed Wellness! This is a recurring, 4-week workshop series taking place every Tuesday from January 17 - February 7. Yoga can help teens and tweens in many ways including reducing stress, alleviating anxiety, improving focus, and building self-esteem.
Bring your own yoga mat, or use one of ours. We are excited to see you there!

Herbs for Winter Health
Tuesday, Jan 24, 6:30pm to 7:30pm
This class will introduce you to herbs that can promote winter health as well as address common ailments. Everyone will make their own simple elderberry oxymel syrup and herbal lozenges to take home! Participants will also taste a variety of herbal teas and infusions that can be easily made at home.
Space is limited; registration is required for this program. To register, please click the link below or call Lakeview Library at 608-246-4547. Registration opens on January 10 at 10 a.m., two weeks prior to program date.
About the Presenter
This program is presented by Linda Conroy of Moonwise Herbs and Midwest Women's Herbal. She is a 30 year veteran herbalist. Linda offers a whole array of learning opportunities focused on natural health, personal growth and permaculture/farming.
