For the health and safety of our community, all MWA writing support will be offered remotely through the fall. Options for remote writing assistance include:

  • face-to-face conversation via Google Meet
  • written feedback via email

To make an appointment, please visit MWA's Appointment Center or call 608-315-5151.

MWA services are made possible through generous donations from the Evjue Foundation, the UW Anonymous Fund, and Altrusa International of Madison, along with administrative and program support from the UW-Madison English Department, the UW-Madison Writing Center, and our library and neighborhood center partners.

This month’s workshop: Why Invest in Child Care Programs with Corrine Hendrickson

Currently, there is not a sustainable system for child care. About 80% of Wisconsin is considered a child care desert and almost no care is considered affordable. The pandemic has made it glaringly obvious that without child care parents cannot work, but programs are unable to provide the high care care and education needed for each and every person to work while remaining sustainable. Learn how we can leverage this moment to create a system where child care educators, children, families, and communities can truly thrive
