Location: 442 Westgate Mall, Madison WI 53711. Next to TJMaxx in Westgate Mall. Thousands of books for sale each month. Most books are donations, some library withdrawals also for sale. Nonfiction titles are sorted by category for easy browsing. Fiction titles for all ages! CD and DVD selections as well. Bag sale (on selected items) starts at 1 pm.

11:30 AM: Locating Ourselves in Mobility Justice: Planning for Multiracial and Just Future Streets discussion with Adonia Lugo

Cultural anthropologist Adonia E. Lugo, PhD, teaches in the Urban Sustainability MA program at Antioch University Los Angeles. Dr. Lugo began investigating the cultural shift needed to support sustainable transportation during her doctoral work in Los Angeles, where she co-founded CicLAvia and the organization today known as People for Mobility Justice. Through The Untokening collective, she is a national leader in the emerging mobility justice movement that works to bring the complex mobility experiences of people of color and other marginalized groups into urban planning and decisionmaking. Her book, Bicycle / Race: Transportation, Culture, & Resistance, was published by Microcosm in 2018.

The Media Lab at Central Library is a free space to explore digital media production in the realms of stop motion animation, 3D world design, green screen video, audio design and graphic design. Drop in and explore the lab or work on projects with the expertise of our media lab staff.

Participants will have the chance to play with natural light by harnessing the sun to make cyanotype prints. Adding in the flexibility and playfulness of clay, we will make shapes, letters, and other forms from clay to make designs with the cyanotype print. Kiddos should be accompanied by an adult.

Madison Writing Assistance: General and Job-Related Writing Help

Free one-on-one coaching sessions for writing projects of any kind, including school assignments, resumes and cover letters, personal letters, applications, forms, newsletters, articles, memoirs, poems and absolutely any other kinds of writing.

Appointments for writing assistance may be made the week of assistance. Call 266-6395 to make a 45-minute appointment. Due to high demand, you are encouraged to call as soon as the library opens (Tuesdays at 10 a.m., or Saturdays at 9 a.m.)

Madison Writing Assistance is a free service is provided by the UW-Madison Writing Center and is made possible through the generous support of the Evjue Foundation, the UW Anonymous Fund, Altrusa Internaional of Madison and the UW-Madison Writing Center.
