Explore green screen and digital comic making technology to transport yourself to imaginary worlds or interplanetary adventures. Incorporate your own drawings or a beloved picture book to be a character in your favorite story. The possibilities are endless! Each participant will receive a printed and digital copy of your comic story to share. All ages welcome. Children under 7 should be accompanied by an adult

Free one-on-one coaching sessions for writing projects of any kind, including school assignments, resumes and cover letters, personal letters, applications, forms, newsletters, articles, memoirs, poems and absolutely any other kinds of writing.

Appointments for writing assistance may be made the week of assistance. Call 266-6395 to make a 45-minute appointment. Due to high demand, you are encouraged to call as soon as the library opens (Tuesdays at 10 a.m., or Saturdays at 9 a.m.)

Madison Writing Assistance is a free service is provided by the UW-Madison Writing Center and is made possible through the generous support of the Evjue Foundation, the UW Anonymous Fund, Altrusa Internaional of Madison and the UW-Madison Writing Center.

Join us on the Sequoya porch to create your own Galactic Goo slime putty at the library! Kids can choose one of three recipes to make and add stars, glitter, and other awesome ingredients. Children under age 7 should have an adult helper.

The Personal Archiving Lab at Central Library is a collection of equipment that can be used to digitize at-risk analog materials, like home movies, video tapes, audio cassettes, photographs, and more.

Stop by the Central Library every Tuesday or Thursday for a tutorial on how to use the library's Personal Archiving Lab, then make an appointment for your personal archiving project. Call 266-6350 for more information or to make an appointment.

The Personal Archiving Lab supports the following formats: VHS and VHS-C tapes, DVDs (not BluRay), audio cassettes, MiniDV and Hi-8 tapes, photographs (including negatives and slides), and other paper-based documents.

The Personal Archiving Lab is funded by a gift from Marvin J. Levy.

Marble Runs with Sylvie Rosenthal
Design and create your own marble run with plywood, nails, rubberbands, and more with guest Bubbler artist Sylvie Rosenthal. Practice your hammering and precision with kid sized, real tools to make your own intricate maze. Kid sized safety glasses and earplugs also provided. Children under 7 should be accompanied by an adult.

Note: LEGO Club is the Terrific Tuesday activity on June 18, July 16, and August 27.

Participants will learn the basics of cinematography, shot design, editing and storytelling via audiovisual media.
