Stories, songs, and activities in English and Spanish to build early literacy and Spanish language awareness, For Spanish speakers and non-Spanish speakers, ages 2-6 yrs old (siblings welcome). Storytime will take place in the Hawthorne Library Children's Area.

Make & Take Activities with the Girl Scouts

Join us for some free "make and take" art activities with Girl Scouts Troop 7228. All are welcome, not just girls, for this fun activity time. Help us celebrate the troop's art show with cookies and crafts. The Girl Scouts will have an art show on display in the children's area. Activities such as Scratch art pictures, coloring bookmarks with gel pens and making bracelets (beaded or friendship string bracelets) will be available for kids and their parents to enjoy.

Celebrating the Ten Avatars (Dashavatar): An Indian Mythology of Evolution

In honor of Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, join Namaste Madison and the Karmic Flower Dance Company for a celebration of Indian culture, mythology, and art.

Explore the evolution story of Dashavatar (the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu), told through dance and an exhibit featuring full-size renderings of the avatars, and see live demonstrations of kolam rice-flour designs.

Light refreshments will be served.

Funded in part by a grant from Madison Public Library Foundation.
