Living Fully Mindfully with Gloria Green

Living Fully Mindfully with Gloria Green

Mon, 01/14/2019 - 12:00pm to 1:30pm

Mindfulness is more than just meditation. It is learning to live in the present, instead of rehashing the past or worrying about the future. It is popping out of autopilot and becoming aware of our thoughts. We have greater balance, control and fuller participation in life when we are in control of our thoughts.

In this class, learn how mindfulness can help you increase your attention span and amplify your focus, become master of your thoughts, respond rather than react to challenging situations, and increase your curiosity to improve your listening skills.

Register for the entire 4-week series, Mondays, January 7 - February 4 (no class January 21).

Play Club - Heisenberg by Simon Stephens

Meeting Room
Mon, 01/14/2019 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Play Club: part book club, part performance experience - presents the opportunity to explore a play in depth through guided discussion and performance of scenes by actors. Participants will gain new perspective on what makes a play work and how it is brought to life. Pick up a copy of the play at the library prior to Play Club.

A chance encounter between Georgie (flirtatious, mysterious) and Alex (a much older man) starts with a kiss that changes both of their lives. What does Georgie want? Can she be trusted? These two strangers, set adrift by life and loss, embark on a fascinating game of cat and mouse that changes course with each new revelation. There are many possible lives we can live - but each choice we make alters the journey.
