There are times when caps are essential.
For example when:
• Reading
• Cogitating
• Exploring
• Celebrating

In this workshop we will be building crowns, hats and thinking caps for these and any other circumstances where their presence is essential.

In this open “Studio” workshop, kids and families can drop-in and have the opportunity to build up to two hats. (In addition to hats for their own head, hats can be made for a pet, stuffed animals, big brother, guardians, siblings to be, a favorite neighbor or teacher, to name a few.)

Children under the age of 7 need an adult helper.

Come for the music and dancing, stay to sing "Happy Anniversary" to the library and eat cake after the show!

The Media Lab at Central Library is a free space to explore digital media production in the realms of stop motion animation, 3D world design, green screen video, audio design and graphic design. Drop in and explore the lab or work on projects with the expertise of our media lab staff.

Lab staff for today:
1-4 Michael- Expertise in film production/writing, and photoshop
1-4 Sophie- Expertise in digital art, graphic design, and animation

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The Bubbler and the Media Lab are supported by grants from Madison Public Library Foundations and The Friends of the Madison Public Library.

The Sequoya Library is celebrating 10 years in at its „new” building at 4340 Tokay Blvd and everyone is invited to the party! Learn about the community groups that use the library, enjoy and play some music, try your hand at screenprinting, add to a community art project and more. Cake will be served by the Friends of Sequoya Library.

Free one-on-one coaching sessions for writing projects of any kind, including school assignments, resumes and cover letters, personal letters, applications, forms, newsletters, articles, memoirs, poems and absolutely any other kinds of writing.

Appointments for writing assistance may be made the week of assistance. Call 266-6395 to make a 45-minute appointment. Due to high demand, you are encouraged to call as soon as the library opens (Tuesdays at 10 a.m., or Saturdays at 9 a.m.)

Madison Writing Assistance is a free service is provided by the UW-Madison Writing Center and is made possible through the generous support of the Evjue Foundation, the UW Anonymous Fund, Altrusa Internaional of Madison and the UW-Madison Writing Center.

Participants will be working with yarn and yarn needles to hand sew with simple stitches that a beginner can easily pick up. National Novel Writing Month Write-In is a workshop where people gather to work on our novels together. Workshop will include timed sprints for boosting word counts, and moral support from fellow WriMo's to motivate writers every year to write new novels, in a single month. 50,000 words is the goal, and everyone who makes it is a winner!
