Family Fun Sewing Sampler One with Bird Ross
This drop-in sewing circle is an opportunity for hands of all ages to experience what you can do with a needle and thread. This sampler class will introduce simple hand sewing and stitching techniques, such as: custom picture stitching, Tyvek embroidery for younger hands, creating pin cushions, and other projects for more experienced sewers. This workshop is recommended for four years and up. Participants under the age of 7 will need to have an adult sewing buddy.

Scientific Illustration Workshop: Drawing Plants w/ Bubbler Artist-in-Residence
This all-ages workshop looks at the classic subject of scientific illustration - plants have so many wonderful forms that it is a marvelous opportunity to investigate how different they can all be. With subjects fresh from the farmer's market, we will investigate flowers and their relationship with pollinators, and practice drawing cross section diagrams as well as watercolor painting.

Open Media Lab
The Media Lab at Central Library is a free space to explore digital media production in the realms of stop motion animation, 3D world design, green screen video, audio design and graphic design. Drop in and explore the lab or work on projects with the expertise of our media lab staff.

Madison Writing Assistance: General and Job-Related Writing Help
Free one-on-one coaching sessions for writing projects of any kind, including school assignments, resumes and cover letters, personal letters, applications, forms, newsletters, articles, memoirs, poems and absolutely any other kinds of writing.
Appointments for writing assistance may be made the week of assistance. Call 266-6395 to make a 45-minute appointment. Due to high demand, you are encouraged to call as soon as the library opens (Tuesdays at 10 a.m., or Saturdays at 9 a.m.)
