The Progressive Media Project, with the support of the BRICO Fund, invites you to participate in our FREE op-ed writing workshop.

Attending the workshop is free for all participants, however pre-registration is requested. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

ABOUT THE PROGRESSIVE MEDIA PROJECT

Since 1993, The Progressive Media Project has worked tirelessly to amplify underrepresented voices in mainstream media to end discrimination, advance social justice, and democratize perspectives on current events locally, statewide, and nationally. Op-eds are often sent out through a distribution network to newspapers across Wisconsin, and the United States.

By participating in our workshop, you will:

-Learn how to effectively communicate your ideas as an op-ed writer
-Understand how to use social media to get your published op-ed in front of a larger audience
-Receive editorial and op-ed placement support from The Progressive magazine’s editorial team

This free program is made possible by MSCR as part of Go4Life, an exercise and physical activity campaign from the National Institute on Aging at NIH. It's designed to help you fit exercise and physical activity into your daily life. MSCR and Madison Public Library are hosting free exercise classes at Pinney and Sequoya as part of the "Lets Move in Libraries" campaign.

Free one-on-one coaching sessions for writing projects of any kind, including resumes and cover letters, school assignments, personal letters, applications, forms, newsletters, articles, memoirs, poems or any other kind of writing. Basic computer help, such as setting up email accounts, searching for jobs online, or filling out online job applications, is also available.

Please come in or call 266-6385 to reserve a 45-minute appointment.

Madison Writing Assistance is a free service provided by the WU-Madison Writing Center and is make possible through the generous support of the Evjue Foundation, the UW Anonymous Fund, Altrusa International, and the UW-Madison Writing Center.
