The Media Lab at Central Library is a free space to explore digital media production in the realms of stop motion animation, 3D world design, green screen video, audio design and graphic design. Drop in and explore the lab or work on projects with the expertise of our media lab staff.

Lab staff for today will be:
Nate- Expertise in film production, editing, animation, game design, graphic design, and digital art
Joan - Expertise in animation, Adobe photoshop, illustrator, and graphic design

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The Bubbler and the Media Lab are supported by grants from Madison Public Library Foundations and The Friends of the Madison Public Library.

Downtown Wild Rumpus: An Anji Play Experience

This program takes place at Brittingham Park (829 W. Washington Ave)

Enjoy play-centered, child led activities in the park each week, based on the educational approach of Anji Play. The library will provide special play equipment to spark your children's imagination. At the end of each event, kids will create a Play Story, drawing and/or writing about their play for that day. Wear messy clothes, bring a water bottle, (optional) bring a picnic dinner or purchase a meal from the "Let's Eat Out" local food carts, and make an evening of it!​ This event is created in partnership with the Madison Parks Division and AnjiPlay, and funded in part by a grant from the Madison Public Library Foundation.

Madison Mural Alley Opening Celebration

We invite everyone to come out and celebrate the official opening of Madison Mural Alley behind the Madison East Shopping Center at 2707 E Washington Ave, Madison, WI 53704.
There will be lots of local food carts*, meet & greet opportunities with mural artists & collaborators, and local music performances!

This project is funded by the Madison Arts Commission, with support from Madison Public Library and the Madison Public Library Foundation.
Event photo is a sketch-up of the mural design that will be behind Hawthorne Library by artists Flavia Zimbardi, Caetano Calomino, & Henrique Nardi.

*A limited number of food cart vouchers will be available for neighborhood residents who need them
