Enjoy play-centered, child led activities in the park each week, based on the educational approach of Anji Play. The library will provide special play equipment to spark your children's imagination. At the end of each event, kids will create a Play Story, drawing and/or writing about their play for that day. Wear messy clothes, bring a water bottle, (optional) bring a picnic dinner or purchase a meal from the "Let's Eat Out" local food carts, and make an evening of it! This event is created in partnership with the Madison Parks Division and AnjiPlay, and funded in part by a grant from the Madison Public Library Foundation.

Paper Folding Dance: Dancing the Score for “Folding, Unfolding, Refolding”

Paper Folding Dance: Dancing the Score for “Folding, Unfolding, Refolding”

Mon, 08/06/2018 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Using all sizes of paper, including oversized pieces of paper, join Artist-in-Residence, Liz Sexe as we create worlds to explore. Remember a time when paper and notes were how we communicated. We will ask the questions: Why do we fold paper? What can we create with paper folding? What memories exist with paper folding?
This workshop serves as sample for the community rehearsals that will take place for the performance at Hawthorne Library.
“Folding, Unfolding, Refolding” is a piece that Liz has been working on, and can be performed in various settings and with all people.

No experience necessary, please register ahead of time.
