Enjoy a short storytime, then stay for play and conversation. For babies ages 0 - 15 months with an adult. One adult per baby is recommended. Registration begins 6/25. The Media Lab at Central Library is a free space to explore digital media production in the realms of stop motion animation, 3D world design, green screen video, audio design and graphic design. Drop in and explore the lab or work on projects with the expertise of our media lab staff.

Lab staff for today will be:
2-6 Rob- Expertise in audio recording
2-6 Joan - Expertise in animation, Adobe photoshop, illustrator, and graphic design

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The Bubbler and the Media Lab are supported by grants from Madison Public Library Foundations and The Friends of the Madison Public Library.

We move everyday. Sitting, standing, and even breathing are all actions that can be pieced together to make dances. Starting with the most basic of movements, we will working to create thoughtful dances. Moving towards abstracting ideas we may find new and exciting ways to move. Play is key to this process!
This workshop is an introduction to dance improvisation! It will start with a guided warm-up and then move to individual exploration with scores. As a group we may move into building ensembles and sharing our creations with each other.

No experience necessary, please register ahead of time.

Downtown Wild Rumpus: An Anji Play Experience

This program takes place at Brittingham Park (829 W. Washington Ave)

Enjoy play-centered, child led activities in the park each week, based on the educational approach of Anji Play. The library will provide special play equipment to spark your children's imagination. At the end of each event, kids will create a Play Story, drawing and/or writing about their play for that day. Wear messy clothes, bring a water bottle, (optional) bring a picnic dinner or purchase a meal from the "Let's Eat Out" local food carts, and make an evening of it!​ This event is created in partnership with the Madison Parks Division and AnjiPlay, and funded in part by a grant from the Madison Public Library Foundation.

Learn how to make gnocchi with bechamel, a cream based sauce. Gnocchi is pasta that can be made with potato, squash or sweet potatoes and hand shaped.
