Enjoy rhymes, bounces, books and songs while learning new tips and techniques to help your baby develop early literacy and early math skills and naturally growing baby's social skills in a group setting. Enjoy a short storytime, then stay for play and conversation. For babies ages 0 - 15 months with an adult. One adult per baby is recommended. Registration begins 6/25. Kids prepare a Summer Picnic

Join The Kids Chef Lily Kilfoy in this hands-on cooking class. Learn about different foods and where they come from, kitchen safety, how to follow recipes, and how to use an assortment of tools. When the weather begins to warm up there is nothing better than eating outdoors. Sandwiches, salads, sides, skewers, dips, fruits, lemonade and more. In this class, participants will work in groups to create a summer picnic. Vegetarian option and nut-free. Registration begins three weeks before each class. The class will be the same each week, so please register for only one.

Downtown Wild Rumpus: An Anji Play Experience

Enjoy play-centered, child led activities in the park each week, based on the educational approach of Anji Play. The library will provide special play equipment to spark your children's imagination. At the end of each event, kids will create a Play Story, drawing and/or writing about their play for that day. Wear messy clothes, bring a water bottle, (optional) bring a picnic dinner or purchase a meal from the "Let's Eat Out" local food carts, and make an evening of it! This event is created in partnership with the Madison Parks Division and AnjiPlay, and funded in part by a grant from the Madison Public Library Foundation.
