Eric Adjetey Anang is a Ghanaian sculptor and fantasy coffin carpenter. He was born in Teshie, Ghana, where he lived and ran the Kane Kwei Carpentry Workshop building custom coffins, a family tradition started by this grandfather. During his time in Madison as the Bubbler artist-in-residence, Eric will be interacting with the public through hosting workshops on woodworking with hand tools, while creating his next life-size wooden coffin in the library.

Individuals of all ages are welcome to visit the library and explore the craft of woodworking, try using a variety of different hand tools, and learn more about the sacred tradition of designer coffin making. Drop in during Eric's open studio times in the coming months. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Media Lab at Central Library is a free space to explore digital media production in the realms of stop motion animation, 3D world design, green screen video, audio design and graphic design. Drop in and explore the lab or work on projects with the expertise of our media lab staff.

Lab staff for today will be:
1-4 Dusty- Expertise in coding, graphic design, and stop-motion animation

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The Bubbler and the Media Lab are supported by grants from Madison Public Library Foundations and The Friends of the Madison Public Library.

Free one-on-one coaching sessions for writing projects of any kind, including school assignments, resumes and cover letters, personal letters, applications, forms, newsletters, articles, memoirs, poems and absolutely any other kinds of writing. Appointments for writing assistance may be made the day of assistance only! Call 266-6395 to make a 45-minute appointment. Due to high demand, you are encouraged to call as soon as the library opens (Saturdays at 9 a.m.) This free service is provided by the UW-Madison Writing Center through the College of Letters & Sciences.
