"13th" Documentary Film Screening and Discussion

Implementating the recommendations of The Task Force for Equity in Music and Entertainment, the Madison Arts Commission and Department of Civil Rights invite you to attend the screening of the full-length documentary 13th, created by filmmaker Ava DuVernay.

'13th" is about the "intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration in the United States;'

A community discussion will follow the screening. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Karen Reece, President of Urban Community Arts Network, and former Chair of the Task Force for Equity in Music and Entertainment.

Discussion Panelists are Rob “Dz” Franklin Media Projects Bubblerarian for the Madison Public Library; Dr. Yorel Lashley, Director & Drum Power Founder & Assistant Director of the Office of Education, Outreach, & Partnerships; and Gloria Reyes, Madison Public School Board Member and former Deputy Mayor for the City of Madison.
