The FUN Agenda! Madison Children's Activity Calendar 2010

Monona Terrace is hosting The FUN Agenda! Kickoff Event on Wednesday, June 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Exhibition Hall (1 John Nolen Drive). This event will feature seven different activity stations for children aged 4 - 8 offered by the participants in the The FUN Agenda! The event is first in a series of Lakeside Kids programs offered at Monona Terrace on Wednesday mornings during the months of June and July.

At the event:

UW Space Place – Launch into Summer!
Make an alka-seltzer rocket to see how high it can fly or decorate a space alien mask to wear and take home.

Madison Public Library, Central Library – Make a Splash!
Read fun water related books and decorate your own fish and fishbowl.

Wisconsin Historical Museum – Pioneering Environmentalism
Discover the story of Earth Day founder and Wisconsin political leader Gaylord Nelson and celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day by designing your very own environmental bumper sticker.

UW Geology Museum
Explore Wisconsin's fossil-rich past and learn about the sea creatures that used to live here in Wisconsin, including the state fossil, a trilobite.

Madison Children's Museum – Leap Into Lakes
Visit our “Leap Into Lakes” exhibit and learn more about our local lake ecosystems and the rich plant and animal life that live in, on, and near our local lakes. Create your own lake life collage!

Wisconsin Veterans Museum – Send A Solider A Note!
Work with Wisconsin Veterans Museum staff and volunteers to create a unique note to send to a soldier, Marine, airman, or sailor currently serving overseas. Let them know how proud you are of them and thank them for their service!

Monona Terrace
Create your own design with shapes and colors from nature that inspired Frank Lloyd Wright.

Pick up your FUN Agenda at any participating location or at the kick-off event and join the downtown fun!

Each FUN Agenda also has a raffle ticket; fill it out and drop it off at any of the participating locations before August 31 for a chance to win one of seven gift bags filled with prizes from each partner site!

The Madison Children's Activity Calendar features entertainment, hands-on fun, and learning for kids and their families. A collaboration among the seven participating agencies, the program includes concerts, movies and presentations, workshops, exhibits, and interactive fun for local children or out of town visitors.
