Volunteer at the Library!
Madison Public Library is looking for a select group of teens, grades 6-12, who want a meaningful volunteer experience and the opportunity to give back to their community.
Each branch library has different volunteering needs during the school year. Call or visit the one nearest you to find out about current opportunities.

Thanks for your interest in volunteering at the library. We do not currently have teen volunteer positions for the public desk. All available summer positions are listed on the teen volunteer page above.
If you are interested in volunteering at a specific library branch please stop in at that branch and talk with one of the librarians. They will be glad to know that you are interested and can better explain what role the teen volunteer plays at their branch.

how come i can't volunteer? that's not really fair! their should be no deadline that just sucks!!
Many of the volunteer
Many of the volunteer positions are for events or work that has happened already which is why the positions are now closed. City of Madison legal rules do not allow for volunteers to work the service desks in our libraries, but you are eligible to apply for service desk positions beginning at age 16. Watch for Library Page job listings at http://www.cityofmadison.com/HR/employment/JobOpenings.cfm You may also sign up for updates so you are notified when positions are added. We look for candidates with excellent communication and customer service skills.
