Do you have what it takes to be Madison Public Library's Super Smash Bros. WiiU Champion? Compete in our summer tournament and prove it! If you place first, second, or third place in a qualifying round, you will be invited to compete against teens from across the city at the championship at Central Library on August 10th! To sweeten the deal, the first place winner of each qualifying round wins a $10 gift card to PrePlayed!

The prizes don't stop there. The first place winner of the Championship wins a $100 gift card to PrePlayed! The second place winner recieves a $50 gift card, and the third place winner gets $25.

Best of luck to all competitors, and we hope to see you at your local neighborhood library this summer!

GAME RULES

  • Teens (grades 6 - 12)
  • 1 vs 1
  • Double Elimination
  • Onsite Registration (up to 20 players) begins at 2:30 p.m. Participants may practice in free play battle until the tournament begins.
  • Bracket will go live at 2:55 p.m., or when signup reaches capacity.
  • No substitute players allowed. 
  • Using the library’s Wii controllers and Gamecube controllers only. No 3DS or personal controllers allowed.
  • The WiiU Gamepad will NOT be available.
  • No Mii fighters or custom moves allowed. You are, however, allowed to select a custom controller configuration.
  • Mewtwo will NOT be available. No other DLC characters will be available.
  • Top 3 players from each library will advance to championship
  • If you DO NOT place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at a qualifying round, you may compete at other libraries throughout the summer.
  • If you DO place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at a qualifying round, you may not compete at another library until the championship.
  • All qualifying rounds begin promptly at 3:00 p.m.


GAME SETTINGS

  • Rules = STOCK
  • Stock = 04
  • Time = 6 minutes
  • Handicap = OFF
  • Damage Ratio = 1.0
  • Stage Selection = Final Destination (Omega stages are also allowed)
  • Stock Time Limit = 6 minutes
  • Team Attack = OFF
  • Pause = ON
  • Score Display = OFF
  • Damage Gauge = ON
  • All items will be OFF except the Smash Ball
  • Items will be set to Medium
