Support Your Library
Donate to the Madison Public Library Foundation, Inc.
Your tax-deductible contribution helps advance library services, builds collections, and improves technology and facilities. Visit the Madison Public Library Foundation web site to learn about the many ways you can donate to Madison Public Library, or stay up to date on the Foundation through its online newsletter.
Donate Books and Other Materials
Give your gently used books, CDs, and videos an "afterlife" by donating them to the Friends of the Library for book sales. Proceeds fund special projects, programs and facilities improvements. Contributions are tax-deductible.
Donate Your Time and Talent
Volunteers provide essential support for library functions, including mailings, research - even gardening!
Join the Friends
Over 1000 Madisonians are members of the Central or Branch Friends groups, providing volunteer help and supplemental funds for special projects and collections that the Library could not otherwise afford.
Visit the Friends Book Store
Located on the second floor of the Central Library, the Friends Book Store is a treasure trove of used books, CDs, videos, and other materials. Proceeds from the Friendshop and book sales benefit the Madison Public Library. Call 608-266-6300 to check for open hours.
Community Partners
Madison Public Library partners with a variety of educational and community agencies in Madison and Dane County for one-time events and ongoing programs. For more information or to become a partner, email madtech @ scls.lib.wi.us.
