Anna Mae Mitchell
Anna Mae Mitchell A life-long resident of Madison, Wisconsin, Mae, as she was known, was born on August 29, 1910. She was the 4th child (of 6) of William Martin Miller and Anna Mae Stewart Miller, who were early leaders in Madison’s African American community. The Miller family home at 647 East Dayton Street is today a historic landmark. All libraries offer access to a black-and-white photocopier and a black-and-white laser printer. Black-and-white photocopies or printed pages are $.10 per page, even if you bring your own paper. You can print in color at the Goodman South Madison Library, Hawthorne Library, Sequoya Library. There is a $.50 per page charge, even if you bring your own paper. No library has a fax machine available for customers at this time.
Playaway audiobooks are books pre-loaded on MP3 devices that you check out.  Browse the 230+ titles in alphabetical order, and place holds on the titles.  This is a relatively new collection and not all libraries carry them.
Pop Culture - Hawthorne Branch

Rental Collections
Can't wait for the latest best seller, but don't want to buy it? Support your library by using our rental collections. Rental DVD collections are available at all our libraries. Rental book collections are available at Sequoya, Lakeview and Alicia Ashman libraries. These collections are only available on a first-come, first-served basis inside the library. Too Good to Miss at Lakeview Library

The library offers two translation services to help our customers use the library. You or someone helping you may request that your librarian contact TeleInterpreters, a telephone translation service that will help you interact with the library. Spanish-language assistance is also available at the Goodman South Madison Library on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Instructional language records, cassettes, CD's and videos are available in the audiovisual department at the Central Library, with more limited collections at the branches.
