TeachingBooks provides resource materials from authors and illustrators on children’s and young adult literature. In-studio movies, audio excerpts and book guides are available to enhance the experience of sharing books.

What is TeachingBooks?

TeachingBooks is a website that utilizes technology to virtually bring authors into every school, library and home and to provide everyone with access to quality literature resources. There are over 6033 book guides available. All of TeachingBooks' resources are designed to bring insights about books across the curriculum, to all subject areas, grade levels and even into the home.

How do I access TeachingBooks?

Anyone with a LINK library card and access to the Internet can use TeachingBooks. Access the database here or follow the link to the Online Databases page in LINKcat.

Next, enter your full library card number without the spaces.

The TeachingBooks “Sign In” page will come up.

The password is 'OnWisconsin'. Then click on the submit box.

You are ready to go.

What can I use TeachingBooks for?

Choose where you want to begin your search (author programs, book guides, book readings or author websites) and click on that box. You can also choose to browse by subject area or in the educator area.

How do I save or print records?

TeachingBooks utilizes a variety of resources to provide the best information available. You can print or download material depending the title, teaching guide or author links you have chosen. If the guide opens as a PDF file, you can print out the material from there. Some of the links will take you to a page that has an email option as well.
