Newspaper Articles

Local and national newspaper articles are available via the ProQuest newspaper database.

Use the ProQuest database to locate articles on a variety of topics from local or national newspapers and print them out or email them to yourself or a friend. Find search tips for ProQuest and example searches on our guide to Newspaper Articles from the ProQuest Database.

The database has interfaces in English, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, and Korean, and you can translate stories into other languages as well. The ProQuest database does not include classifieds, obituaries, and some news or weather features.

Classifieds

The Central Library of Madison Public Library keeps paper classifieds on file of all the papers it receives. In addition, many current classifieds can be located online on a specific newspaper's web site. To locate classified ads in a specific newspaper or all newspapers in a geographic region, try our recommended newspaper sites.
