Example 2: I would like to know if any of my ancestors fought in the Civil War.

blue arrow Click on the blue Search box on the top line of the first screen of AncestryLibary.

blue arrow Now, look in the Browse Records column on the right hand side of the page. Look for Military Records and click on Civil War Service Records.

blue arrow Type in the first and last names of the person you are looking for and any other information you might know. Click on the orange search button.

blue arrow Find the name of the soldier you are looking for and click on the blue View Record link to retrieve their military record.

AncestryLibrary

blue arrow This gives you the Civil War Service Records Record. You can choose to print or add to an ancestral chart.
